Come see our new infant
San Francisco Zoo & Gardens welcomed the birth of a Franc̗ois’ langur born Sunday, February 12. This is a significant birth as it’s the first infant born since the new father arrived from the San Diego Zoo early last year. Franc̗ois’ langurs are an endangered monkey living in fragmented populations in their native China and Vietnam. It is estimated that there may be fewer than 2,000 individuals remaining in the wild. Stop by soon while the infant still is small and before it changes from orange to black.

International Polar Bear Weekend
February 25 & 26
We're planning some special activities at SF Zoo in honor of International Polar Bear Day, a global event to bring awareness about a warming Arctic and the impact on Polar Bears. We’ll be highlighting our own polar bear “Uulu” during 12:30 Keeper Talks on Saturday and Sunday, February 25 & 26. We’re also offering a very cool Twilight Tour (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=6614ed7450&e=7683a9aed3) focusing on animals with cold-weather adaptations on Saturday, February 25 from 5:30-7:30 pm. The evening will include an educational Zoo tour, family friendly activities, a Q&A with a zookeeper and a tasty snack! Space is limited, so register today or contact wildnights at sfzoo.org (mailto:wildnights at sfzoo.org?subject=Twilight%20Tour) for more details.
