Winter Class Registration on December 15 and Mather Lottery
Winter class registration opens this Saturday, December 15 at 10 a.m! Break out 
of your winter hibernation or get ready to knock out those New Year's resolutions
with classes including Boxing, Storytelling, Rec-N-Tot Soccer, Rocketmobiles and

Margaret Hayward Playground Renovation Begins!
Last week, we broke ground on the Margaret Hayward Playground renovation project,
which will improve park access, update play equipment and enhance programs for seniors
and youth at this beloved Western Addition gathering space. The redesign, which 
will be complete in 2020, will unify the sprawling 6-acre property, welcoming visitors
through a singular entrance. The renovation also includes a new children's play 
area, updated sport courts and play fields, and a new community building with expanded
meeting space and kitchen amenities. Thank you to everyone who helped us break ground

Sava Pool Classes, Rec Swim Cancelled
Due to declining water temperature caused by a broken boiler at Sava Pool, the remaining
Fall Session classes have been cancelled. The accounts of all registrants will be
credited for the cancelled classes. Rec Swim has also been cancelled until the matter
is resolved. We are working quickly to get Sava Pool back to full capacity and appreciate
your patience. Lap swims will continue at Sava Pool, but will be suspended if the
water temperature falls below the critical level of 70 degrees. We are monitoring

The 11th Annual Neighborhood Empowerment Network (NEN) Awards are returning to City
Hall on February 6! The awards are San Francisco's way of honoring and celebrating

Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at Boddeker Park on December 18
Join the Tenderloin People's Congress and Friends of Boeddeker Park on Tuesday, 
December 18 for the first ever holiday tree lighting ceremony at Boeddeker Park

Winter Exhibit at Harvey Milk Photo Center
Check out the Winter Exhibit at the Harvey Milk Photo Center (50 Scott Street) that
runs from Thursday, December 13 to Saturday, January 19 and features local artists
from around San Francisco with a wide body of diverse media and subjects. These 
artists and photographers will present their work at an opening reception event

Winter Wonderland at Tenderloin Rec Center

Marina Holiday Party on December 14
The Marina Community Association is proud to present the inaugural Marina Holiday
Tree Lighting Festival. The event will be held on the Marina Green near the Harbor
Master's office (3950 Scott Street) this Friday, December 14 from 3 to 8 p.m. The
festival will feature a multitude of attractions including food trucks, live music,
Santa, and the first ever lighting of the Marina Holiday Tree! In addition, the 
San Francisco Marina Small Craft Harbor, along with the St. Francis and Golden Gate
yacht club, will be holding its traditional lighted boat parade and holiday party!
