Celebrate the Summer Solstice in Golden Gate Park Tonight, June 20
Celebrate the start of summer with an amazing night of music in Golden Gate Park
 at the iconic Conservatory of Flowers. The City will revel in another free concert
in the park from 6-10 p.m., featuring iconic songs from the 1960s. As the longest
day of the year slides into night, the Conservatory welcomes back the Summer of 
Love light art installation launched in 2017. Photosynthesis, kicking off at 9:15
p.m., transforms the Conservatory into a canvas of colorful light art.
The flower-powered celebration is free and open to all ages. Kids' activities and
a variety of food trucks from Off the Grid will also be available.
Getting there: Space is limited at this event, and public transportation is highly
recommended. Note that John F. Kennedy Drive from 8th Avenue to Kezar Drive will
 be closed until midnight on June 20. Parking will available at the Music Concourse
Parking Lot as it will be open late until 11 p.m. to accommodate parking for the
 event. Vehicles may enter at Fulton Street and 10th Avenue or at Lincoln and MLK
Drive near the Academy of Sciences.

McLaren Park Tennis Court Community Celebration Day on June 23
Join San Franciscans for Sports and Recreation (SFFSR), Youth Tennis Advantage and
the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a community
celebration including tennis clinics and games for all ages and abilities, friendly
exhibitions and light refreshments at the recently resurfaced McLaren Park Tennis
Courts (Mansell Street and Visitacion Avenue), which were redone through a generous
grant from SFFSR! In addition, if you have extra tennis equipment you would like
 to donate, we will be accepting donations to support tennis programming throughout

SF Rec and Park Breaks Ground on Ralph D. House Community Park
We had a great morning breaking ground on the Ralph D. House Community Park on Tuesday,
June 19. The project scope will include improvements to the park entrance, terrace,

The Buena Vista Park Tennis Court Resurfacing Complete!
The Buena Vista Park Tennis Courts reopened ahead of schedule on Tuesday, June 19
after a fresh court resurfacing courtesy of a generous grant from San Franciscans

Flower Piano Returns to the SF Botanical Garden in July
This summer, music, community, and nature join forces once again in the heart of
 the city during the twelve-day, outdoor extravaganza known as Flower Piano. Now
 in its fourth year, Flower Piano once again transforms San Francisco Botanical 
Garden in Golden Gate Park into the city's own alfresco concert hall, and everyone
is invited to play and listen for just the price of admission.
>From July 5 - 16 each day 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors will find 12 pianos tucked 
among the many flower-filled gardens within the Garden's 55 acres and are encouraged
to play what they like, from chopsticks to Tchaikovsky. On weekend days, event partner
Sunset Piano has invited professional pianists and a whole host of other musicians
to perform throughout the Garden as well, and the public is welcome to pack a picnic
and enjoy the shows.
Back this year also is NightGarden Piano, a special evening event on July 12, 13
 & 14 from 8-11:30 p.m. Beautifully lit pathways guide visitors to pianos aglow 
with performances by Sunset Piano all-stars and open pianos to play. Food and drink
available for purchase. Tickets are $45-55 each for NightGarden Piano. All proceeds
help to fund Flower Piano.

Stern Grove Festival Featuring Ziggy Marley on June 24

1st Sundays Block Party Debut on July 1

Disco Days Zumba Dance Party on July 1
Join us for our quarterly party with Zumba in the Parks on Sunday, July 1 from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m. All of our Zumba instructors will come together to showcase their
 moves during this FREE two hour event at the County Fair Building (1199 9th Avenue).
