Hi WV Families,

Below is an email from The Horse Park. 50 displaced horses from the Butte fire are at Camelot Equestrian Center near Chico. If you have any of the items listed below that you can donate, please bring them to the Horse Park front office or to the WV barn. We will have a large purple bucket in the front of our barn that you can leave them in. Please bring them by tomorrow evening.
blankets
halters / lead ropes
buckets
feed buckets
hoof picks
brushes
hoses
fly spray
first aid supplies
salt blocks
disposable gloves
zip ties
extension cords
Senior horse feed or similar
If you can’t give items, please consider giving a monetary donation. Directions on how to do that are below.

Thank you for your generosity, and helping out our equine friends devastated by these fires.

-Krista Mack

Dear Member,

Between 200-300 horses were turned out from corrals in Paradise, CA as the wildfire in Butte County approached. They ran for their lives, and are burned, injured, scared, hungry and thirsty. They can't graze; there is no food. The creeks are dry this time of year.

The horses, when they are caught, are being taken to Camelot Equestrian Center. Farmers are delivering feed to Camelot for the rescued horses. Unfortunately it most likely will be months or years before A) the horses are reunited with their owners, B) the owners rebuild the stables, C) the jobs come back.

Currently, as of today (Wed. 11/14), there are 50 displaced horses located at Camelot Equestrian Park that need immediate attention and care.

The Horse Park is hopeful that our generous members and community members will support Paradise and the Camelot Equestrian Center by making a contribution to directly assist the rescue center (Camelot) that has graciously and selflessly opened their facility to these displaced animals for the unforseeable future.

Monetary donations can be made in the following ways: Check or Credit Card.
