Surrealistic Summer Solstice Jam 3 and Psychedelic Photosynthesis on June 19
Join us for the 3rd annual outtasight, flower-powered night under the stars as we
kick off summer with the Psychedelic Photosynthesis and Surrealistic Summer Solstice
Jam. Spread out a blanket for an amazing night of free, live music and psychedelic
visuals in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park at the iconic Conservatory of Flowers
next Wednesday, June 19.

The concert, featuring the iconic songs of 1969 performed by legendary artists alongside
bright new talents in the Bay Area music scene, will run from 6 to 10 p.m. The Conservatory's
light show, Photosynthesis, will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m, transforming the

Women's World Cup to Play Live on the Big Screen at SF Parks
Looking for a way to kick off summer? We are hosting free, live FIFA Women's World
Cup viewing parties this June and July. The events, held in partnership with the
 San Francisco Parks Alliance, will feature matches on the big screen, food trucks,
soccer-related activities, and family fun. This year's matches at Sue Bierman Park
will take place next Thursday, June 20, as well as July 2 and July 3, at noon. The
finals will be screened at Civic Center Plaza on Sunday, July 7 beginning at 8 a.m.

80-foot banner were unveiled at India Basin this past Friday with District 10 Supervisor
Shamann Walton, The Trust for Public Land and San Francisco Parks Alliance. The 
party featured free food, swag, music and a viewing of Game 3 of the NBA Finals!

Merced Heights/Alice Chalmers Groundbreaking
We had a great time breaking ground on the Merced Heights and Alice Chalmers playground
projects under the Let'sPlaySF! initiative this past Saturday. Members of the community
were joined by Mayor London Breed, Assemblymember Phil Ting, and District 11 Supervisor
Ahsha Safai to commemorate this milestone. Afterwards, we celebrated with a dessert
potluck. Thank you to everyone who came out and we look forward to reopening these
playgrounds with you!

Washington Square Project to Begin on June 17
We are planning to begin construction on the Washington Square Water Conservation
Project this Monday, June 17. During this time, the park's lawn will be closed, 
while the playground and restroom will remain open. The project will replace the
 park's old irrigation system to conserve 2.2 million gallons of water per year!

2019 Stern Grove Festival Lineup Kicks Off on June 16!
The 82nd season of Stern Grove Festival (19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard) kicks

Lafayette Park Movie Night on June 14

Stonewall Riots Exhibit on June 22
In honoring the Stonewall riots 50 years ago, the Harvey Milk Photo Center (50 Scott
Street) proudly presents the Stonewall 50 Years Anniversary Art Exhibit. This exhibit
will feature local artists showcasing their best contemporary works celebrating 
the LGBTQ community. The exhibit opens on Saturday, June 22 with a reception from

Wheelchair Basketball Clinic on June 28
Join our Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusion team and California Children's Services
for a wheelchair basketball adaptive sports clinic at Gene Friend Recreation Center
(270 6th Street) on Friday, June 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This clinic is for youth
and teens with physical disabilities 6 to 17 years old, with no experience required
for participants! Sport wheelchairs will be provided and everyone will play! For

 Recreation Center earlier this year. The wheelchairs were made possible through
 a generous grant from San Franciscans for Sports and Recreation. Check out the
