Surrealistic Summer Solstice Jam 3 and Psychedelic Photosynthesis on June 19
Join us for the 3rd annual outtasight, flower-powered night under the stars as we
kick off summer with the Psychedelic Photosynthesis and Surrealistic Summer Solstice
Jam. Spread out a blanket for an amazing night of free, live music and psychedelic
visuals in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park at the iconic Conservatory of Flowers
on Wednesday, June 19.
The concert, featuring the iconic songs of 1969 performed by legendary artists alongside
bright new talents in the Bay Area music scene, will run from 6 to 10 p.m. The Conservatory's

Plans Brewing for Flywheel Coffee Kiosk
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission on Thursday will authorize a lease
agreement with Flywheel Coffee Roaster to operate a food and beverage kiosk out 
of a Rec and Parks building currently used for gardener equipment storage in the
 eastern edge of Golden Gate Park park near Page and Stanyan streets. The planned
kiosk will complement the area's improvements through the Stanyan Street Edge Project,
which is scheduled to break ground in July and be completed in early 2020. For more

SF Controller's Office 2019 City Survey Report
This past week, the Controller's Office came out with its 2019 city survey report.
Our score rose to a B+ rating from last year. Highlights include our field and courts
experiencing a 9% increase in approval, which was the largest increase citywide.

SF Pride Golf Tournament on June 26
San Francisco Pride is pleased to announce its inaugural San Francisco Pride Golf
Tournament community fundraiser! The tournament will take place at San Francisco's

Golden Gate Park 150th Birthday Meeting

Call to Volunteer: Rec and Park Trail Corps!
Calling all trail fans! Do you love hiking trails in San Francisco? Want to be part
of the team that builds and maintains your favorite trails in the city? The San 
Francisco Recreation and Park Department's Urban Trails Program invites you to join
us in a kick-off volunteer work party, where you will gain valuable experience in
the basics of trail maintenance and learn more about the new volunteer Trail Corps.

This volunteer group will help us maintain over 30 miles of urban trails in parks
throughout the city from Glen Canyon to Mount Davidson! Volunteers will work alongside
program staff and other trail enthusiasts, learning all aspects of trail design,
 construction and maintenance, while enjoying the great outdoors in some of the 
city's most beautiful natural areas.

Our introductory work party will take place this Saturday, May 18 at Glen Canyon
 Park where volunteers will prune vegetation and perform trail tread maintenance.

Family Day at Herz Playground on May 18
Swing by the 21st Annual Family Day this Saturday, May 18! The event will feature
a breakfast and parade before the festivities continue at Herz Playground (1701 
Visitacion Avenue) with food, music, raffles and games! In addition, stop by the
 Herz Clubhouse to provide your ideas for a new neighborhood hub with a proposed
 gym/recreation center, neighborhood retail, community center and more. Rec and 
Park's staff will also be onhand to discuss the upcoming renovation of the children's
playground at Herz. We look forward to celebrating this Vis Valley tradition with

Introduction to Seed Sowing Propagation
Join the Friends of Alemany Farm (700 Alemany Boulevard) for its introduction to
 seed sowing propagation workshop this Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. Learn
the basics of starting plants from seed. Workshop participants will get hands-on
 experience sowing seeds and will have the opportunity to take some home. For more

This Sunday, May 19 is the closing event for the Holocaust remembrance art installation,
Lest We Forget. Join the artist Luigi Toscana from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the
