Introducing our new male kudu calf!

We are excited to announce the birth of a new male greater kudu calf! He was born on October 15th to mother “Madison” and is growing strong and healthy under her care.  Greater kudu are native to southern and eastern Africa and are one of the tallest and most striking antelope species. Male kudu have the largest horns of any antelope species, spiraling up to 6 feet. We can't wait to watch this cutie grow!  Be sure to keep an eye out for them in the African Savanna!

San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is a great place to connect with animals, and one of the best ways is by feeding our giraffes! Join us every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the perfect “selfie” at the Coulter Giraffe Plaza from 11 am - 1 pm to feed our herd for $5 per individual.*

*Due to the outdoor nature of our African Savannah, we accept only cash for these feedings.  Also, wind, diets and other variables may impact feeding hours. Enjoy!

Daylight savings time brings our winter hours (10 am - 4 pm) and a new Animal Connection schedule.  Early bird visitors to San Francisco Zoo & Gardens have more time to get back to the popular Grizzly Bear Feeding which is now at 11 am.
