Silver Terrace Athletic Fields Reopening Celebration on November 8

Panhandle Playground Reopening Celebration on November 12
Join us, along with the San Francisco Parks Alliance and neighbors, for a reopening
celebration of the Panhandle Playground (Oak Street at Ashbury in Golden Gate Park)

SF Rec and Park Commission to Consider Operator for Golden Gate Park Tennis Center
In April, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department broke ground on its project
to transform its 125-year-old Golden Gate Park Tennis Center into one of the best
public tennis facilities in the nation. On Thursday, November 7, Recreation and 
Park Commissioners will vote on an operator to handle its day-to-day management 
when it opens its doors.
The Commission's Operations Committee will decide whether to authorize Rec and Park
to approve the selection of Lifetime Activities to enter into an agreement with 
the department to offer tennis programs for up to eight years at the center, which
is set to open in winter 2020. If approved, the matter will then go to the full 
Commission for a vote.
The operator's responsibilities include ensuring the new center is welcoming to 
everyone by balancing the needs of public court rentals; access for SF Rec and Park's
summer camps and TLC after school tutoring program; local high school matches; lessons;
clinics; pickleball; and special events. It will also offer online court reservations,
equipment rentals and refreshments, and perform daily maintenance. For more information,

Salute to Service Huddle at Alemany Farm
Ahead of Veterans Day, we partnered with the Bob Woodruff Foundation, NFL, San Francisco
49ers, Lowes and The Mission Continues to host a Salute to Service Huddle today.
 Veteran volunteers, along with current and former NFL players and other civilians
helped to complete a variety of tasks around Alemany Farm from weeding to building

We Are the City Family Summits in November
The Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF) is hosting a series 
of family summits near you to discuss its five-year planning process and how the

SFYBL Coaches Meeting November 7
Interested in starting a youth baseball team? San Francisco Youth Baseball League
(SFYBL) registration begins on Saturday, November 16 at 10 a.m. In preparation for
registration, there is a mandatory coaches meeting on Thursday, November 7 from 
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the County Fair Building (1199 9th Avenue). To register a team,

Our holiday craft fair at the Harvey Milk Center for the Arts (50 Scott Street)
