Alemany Farm Harvest Festival on October 19

Scaregrove on October 25
Scaregrove, our spooktacular Halloween event, returns to Stern Grove (19th Avenue
and Sloat Boulevard), on Friday, October 25 from 3 to 9 p.m. This year's event will
feature a costume contest and parade, haunted houses, carnival rides, food for sale,
live entertainment and more! $10 per person; children under 2 are free!
Dress up in your costumes and join the fun! (Please, family-friendly costumes only.

Urban Ag Day at Alemany Farm
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department's Urban Agriculture Program, San
Francisco Environment and the University of California Cooperative Extension held
its first ever San Francisco Urban Ag Day last week, celebrating the city's agricultural
and natural history. The event featured a variety of animals, including worms, bees,
mini cows and detector dogs. More than 120 San Francisco 3rd graders met local farmers,
explored STEM careers in agriculture, and explored the worlds of beekeeping, raising
chickens, native pollinators and more! Thank you to all of our partners who made

We Are the City Family Summits in October
The Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF) is hosting a series 
of family summits near you to discuss its five-year planning process and how the
 City invests in programs and services for young people. The next will take place

Cirque d'Art Fundraiser on October 19
Join the Friends of Sharon Art Studio (300 Bowling Green Drive) for its 4th annual
Halloween fundraiser, Cirque d'Art from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 19.
This event will feature a silent auction, tarot readings, live music, complimentary
spooky treats, face painting, special prize drawings, games and more. Costumes are

Celebration Garden Opening October 23
Join the San Francisco Botanical Garden (1199 9th Avenue) on Wednesday, October 
23 from 11 a.m. to noon as it officially opens its newly transformed Celebration
 Garden. This garden will showcase plants from many of the Botanical Garden's collections
and provide a venue for special programs, exhibitions and events. This renovation
was made possible through the partnership of the San Francisco Recreation and Park
Department and San Francisco Botanical Garden Society and through generous contributions
from donors and volunteers.
