During the month of October, come explore our "Harvest Hallow," the City’s largest hay maze open every day (and free for Zoo members!). On weekends, enjoy our "Zoo Brew Haus" with a full slate of German-inspired dishes, international brews, and live music for all ages! The Zoo’s other cafes will feature fare from all over the world!

Boo at the Zoo, the Bay Area’s most popular family Halloween event, only happens once a year and you don't want to miss it! The family-friendly Halloween event includes trick-or-treat stations throughout the Zoo and Costume Parade and Contest. Seeing our troop of seven chimpanzees, Cobby, Gombus, Michael, Minnie, Maggie, Beth and Connie, enjoy the new Great Ape passage habitat is incredible! Currently, the males and females are in separate groups as they continue to bond. Introducing males first is based on knowledge of chimp social systems and what has been the accepted practice among chimp care professionals. In late July, Michael, a 27-year-old male, was introduced to Cobby and Gombus, using the approach of creating male to male bonding. Michael's longtime companions, Connie and Beth (pictured here with Maggie), arrived in late August. They are currently integrated with Minnie and Maggie in another incredible display of acceptance of new troop members. Come out and see our troop of seven continue to bond and explore Great Ape Passage.
