Our chimpanzee troop is growing! Life for our senior chimps has changed significantly since the opening of Great Ape Passage, with new living spaces and habitat and the successful introduction of Gombus last year. We are thrilled to announce the arrival of one male and two females, Michael, Beth, and Connie, from ZooTampa at Lowry Park. The relocation was coordinated as part of the Species Survival Plan (SSP) as a result of a coordinated effort among accredited zoos and will enable the new three aging primates to live with a larger, senior group of chimps in a new social environment. Come see our growing troop explore the day room and new outdoor habitat on your next visit!
