Starting this year, K2C will match dollar for dollar deposits into your child’s K2C account, up to $20 for this school year! Save $5, be credited with $5! This incentive replaces the $10 Save Monthly incentive. And if you have not checked your account online before, you can be credited $20 the first time you log in! September is College Savings Month! With College Savings Month upon us, you may start to see a national campaign on Children’s Savings Accounts (CSA’s). Ten years ago, Kindergarten to College was the first of its kind CSA program in the nation! Now there are over 80 programs across the country! As our students start a new school year, it is a good reminder to save for college with your child’s K2C account. They’re one grade closer to college! Our Future is Stronger with Children’s Savings Accounts when we invest in our students. Visit k2csf.org  40 SFUSD Students Received K2C Scholarships! Our K2C College Tour Scholarship Contest was a great success this summer! Over 300 1st-10th grade students participated in our contest from 54 SFUSD schools. K2C distributed 40 scholarships to student winners and more than 100 prizes. Another Way to Save! In addition to K2C, did you know you can also save in a 529 College Savings plan? California’s ScholarShare 529 Matching Grant Program runs through the end of this year, providing eligible families with up to $225 in grants for opening and contributing to a new ScholarShare 529 college savings account! For more information, visit their site here. K2C Intro Videos Available Now! We now have K2C videos available on the basics of K2C in English and in Spanish. These videos can be used for school orientations, back to school nights, ELAC, SCC meetings, PTA meetings, or just to share with other families. You can find the videos here on YouTube for English, or here on YouTube for Spanish. And also, on our K2C website. Facebook Live and Zoom office hours Join us and learn about the basics of K2C! We offer these sessions in both Spanish and English where you can ask us questions about K2C such as: how to find out your student’s account number, how to register online and much more! Spanish: Every Wednesday at 3:30 pm on our Spanish Facebook page English: Every Thursday at 3:30 via Zoom on our English Facebook page Monthly Spotlight 100% College Prep Institute Diane, from 100% College Prep Institute (left), and Elisa from our K2C team (right) K2C has a new partnership with 100% College Prep Institute, a program from the Bayview Association for Youth that is based in Bayview/Hunters Point. Their mission is to create a cadre of college ready students from San Francisco’s underserved communities to begin and complete post-secondary education.
