We are thrilled to announce the return of March of the Penguins featuring our two penguin chicks on Saturday, August 7th! Due to social distancing safety measures, advance reservations and masks are required. The March will begin at 10:15 a.m. and reservations are now available (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=7d2258f9d2&e=7683a9aed3)  for Members. Guardian entry will begin at 9:00 a.m. If you are interested in becoming a Guardian member, please contact Deb Howe in the Development office at Debh at sfzoo.org (mailto:Debh at sfzoo.org) .

We are excited to announce a brand new habitat in the Exploration Zone featuring Yosemite toads! The Yosemite toad is a medium-sized toad indigenous to California, found in wet meadows at high elevations. Once abundant, this species has been in dramatic decline for several decades and is now found primarily on public managed lands within national forests and national parks.

We are proud to be part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and Zoo-Park Partnership for America's Keystone Wildlife program with Yosemite National Park. This partnership is designed to unite zoos and National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, and National Forests and Grasslands in restoring sustainable habitats and wildlife populations. Come out to see these beautiful animals and learn about what you can do to help conserve this magnificent species!

The Summer Games are underway and we are joining in the fun with our own at home version of "ZOOlympics." Once you complete the activities, cut out your very own medal and wear it with pride. Have fun and go for the gold!

We are proud to announce the launch of a partnership with Museums for All! We now offer $3 admission for individuals and families up to four who present a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, and a valid form of ID. CONSERVATION HIGHLIGHT

Today, July 29, is International Tiger Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness for one of the most extraordinary predators in the world. Just over a century ago, there were as many as 100,000 wild tigers living in Asia. Fewer than 3,900 remain today.  With less than 400 tigers in the wild, Sumatran tigers are one of the most critically endangered subspecies. We are committed to ensuring a future for these majestic animals and we hope after visiting, you too can share the important message of tiger conservation!
