On this International Women's Day, we celebrate and recognize all of our female employees who are the key to our mission and our future. Here at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens, our female staff comprises almost 70% of our employees. Many incredible women drive much of our animal care and wellness initiatives as well as our conservation and education programs. Within the zoo industry, the number of female CEOs/Zoo Directors have increased as well, as more and more females become leaders in conservation.

Today and every day, we are inspired by one of the greatest females in conservation, Dr. Jane Goodall. In celebration of International Women's Day, we proudly give $3,000 to the Jane Goodall Institute to continue to inspire future generations of conservation leaders.

The key to our future lies with all of us. Happy International Women's Day!
