Love Letters to SF Workshops Future of JFK Drive: Outreach Events on November 14 The Golden Gate Park Access and Safety Program, a joint effort of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department (RPD) and San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), is tasked with finding solutions that balance the need for safe, car-free spaces with the need for access to Golden Gate Park for all visitors, including seniors and the disability community. An extensive public outreach process that was launched asks the public to consider a broad range of proposed updates to the car-free route on Golden Gate Park’s John F. Kennedy Drive—from modifying street closures to improving access to mobility services like the park shuttle, bikeshare, scooters, taxis and pedicabs. This Sunday, there will be tabling at Lindy in the Park (JFK Drive just west of Music Concourse Drive) on November 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Swing by to provide feedback, and to learn the Lindy Hop! Esprit Park Project NuuEDScore Entrepreneurship Program Pitch Competition Our Video of the Week comes courtesy of NuuEDScore and highlights the winner of last month's business pitch competition, which is a part of this organization's entrepreneurship and financial literacy program. Participants and judges included members and alumni of our Requity and Peace Parks programs, as well as Rec and Park staff. The winning pitch was from Josh McCormick and Jahsai Shannon, whose Safety Net Agency business idea aims to manage endorsement deals and compensation for NIL (Name-Image-Likeness) of student athletes, to help provide them a more secure future. NuuEDScore seeks to help everyone get the most out of their educational and career pathways by providing a scoring system that identifies their unique personalities and skill sets. Its entrepreneurship and financial literacy program helps guide participants, many of whom come from Rec and Park programs, on how to start a business and manage their finances. If you are interested in joining this six-week program for ages 16 to 25, email Ray Kelly for registration assistance.
