[11] Celebrating American Indian Heritage Month
SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear SFUSD Families:

SFUSD is committed to creating humanizing learning experiences, which means creating educational content that develops student capacity for knowledge (​and love) of self​; solidarity​ between communities and with the most marginalized; and self-determination.

This month, we recognize American Indian Heritage Month to pay tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans. In SFUSD, one way we celebrate American Indian heritage each day is through our [12] Indian Education Program. This program supports the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indian/Alaskan Native students as it connects to their cultural, emotional, and social wellbeing in SFUSD.

Please read on for resources to support your child and for more ways to get involved.
