Spend St. Patrick's Day at SF Zoo

It's your lucky weekend...from March 17th - 19th, wear anything with a shamrock and get $1 off admission. Enjoy green beer all weekend long while you walk through and see all things green at SF Zoo. Join us for Eggstravaganza presented by Kinder Joy®!

Come and experience the beautiful blooms and celebrate Easter during Eggstravaganza presented by Kinder Joy® on April 1! We will host four egg hunts featuring a Kinder Joy® treat and toy. Participation for each hunt is limited to 150 kids per hunt and reservations must be made in advance. Reservations for the egg hunt open on Wednesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. As you explore the zoo, keep your eyes out to spot fascinating facts about a variety of animal eggs and make sure to get a photo with the Easter bunny while you’re here! World Frog Day on Twitch

World Frog Day is coming up on March 20 and we're partnering with BART to host a fun live frog talk on the livestreaming service, Twitch, as we team up to talk all things red-legged frogs! Free Day in Celebration of World Water Day

In celebration of World Water Day, which takes place every March 22 as a way to raise awareness of the global water crisis and the need for sustainable water resources, SF Zoo is hosting a Free Day on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Come visit our Magellanic penguins, including “Waddles,” our official World Water Day ambassador and make a pledge at the Conservation Station to do your part to save water in your every day life.
Hola! Spring Bilingual Camp Returns

Initially created for Spanish-speaking families during the pandemic, our popular bilingual camp returns this Spring in two sessions. Surrounded by more than 250 species of animals, campers will learn from Spanish-speaking teachers about the world of animals and gain an appreciation for our natural world. The 5-week session runs on Saturdays and will be taught in Spanish. Members get a discounted price using the code MEMBERHERO. Muchas Gracias! Since we lost an hour due to Daylight Savings last weekend, we are excited to offer our Members early access to SF Zoo this Saturday, March 18th, at 9 a.m. Free coffee will be available from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. at the Lemur Cafe.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

Here at SF Zoo, we provide opportunities for our animals to demonstrate a full range of natural behaviors. During winter months, instead of going into a full hibernation, brown and black bears go into torpor which is a time of lower activity and metabolic rates. While in torpor, our bears choose whether they want to explore their habitat or sleep in their dens. We’re excited that we got a recent glimpse of our black bears enjoying the outdoors. Spring must be on the way!
