I am working with an in home lactation consultant Julie
Hawksley who works in a practice with Caroline Kerherve
415-867-6873. They were referred by Noe Valley
Pediatrics and are terrific. I'm at almost 8 weeks and
am supplementing heavily with formula because I need
breaks, but that means a lot of pumping which is no fun
 either.

Agreed that this is normal and will be over with as
quickly as it began...and then happen again in a few
weeks! I used the lactation consultant associated with
Natural Resources, Tracy, several times and thing she
is great. I also saw several through UCSF and felt I
got something out of each meeting. I know they do house
 calls as well.

found reading an ebook during those marathon like
sessions helped me pass the time during the day. We
would watch some 30-60 minute long Tv series during the
night feedings. Husband would prep the babes while I
prepped myself and then we would settle into bed with
the laptop and the nursing pillow. Whenever they were
done, we'd go back to bed and finish the episode during
the next session. That really helped us deal mentally
with it. If you ever just need to chat - feel free to
contact me. I'm still nursing both of mine at 20
 months.

I am a Lactation specialist, especially for twin moms,
and I do in-home visits. Please feel free to give me a
call to talk about how to breastfeed your babies
without going crazy, and to schedule an
 appointment.Carole Carole Hanson, CLEPerinatal and

I completely agree with the comment about using a soft
hair tie on one ankle of one indentical twin, for all
the reasons stated - it can get wet in the bath, you
can feel it through clothing, and in the dark. It beats
painting a toenail by far. ID bracelets are not the
best option, as the babies would be able to get them to
their mouths to lick, and that's not a great idea. Also
the color coding seems to work wonders, especially for
the outside world. You can designate one color for one,
or one color plus a pattern option (one gets the
solids, one gets the patterns. Or one gets the animal
patterns, one gets a different pattern). Keep it
simple. Several of my dear friends have identical girls
 - one didn't take of the ID bracelets for a few weeks
too. The other friend declared that one girl would wear
something with purple in it, and the other with
turquoise. I can tell you that when I saw those girls
as teenagers, one had purple flip flops and the other
had turquoise ones, and it allowed me to know who was
who (so your color coding might become their personal
 favorite color…..)Congratulations on the upcoming
birth of your girls!Carole Carole Hanson, CLEPerinatal
